Size: Small/Medium with elastic waist, 28”- 32”. Hand-painted on 100% crepe de chine silk, lined with china silk.

Technique: First, I traced the pattern of the skirt directly to the silk and painted the front and back separately. For this particular piece I used a technique called linear under painting. Using Tinfex Design and Pepeo Soie silk dyes, I painted an outline of the design with color using a thin brush. Then I applied clear gutta resist, eliminating a white outline. The resist/gutta lines help keep the design controlled. The silk was then steam set for three hours to make it colorfast. It was then assembled and sewn into the garment.
